Male salmon on guardian post

Marsh life is a mixed media installation at the Edmonds Historical Museum using, old growth cedar glass, all joined together on a metal frame. Marsh life depicts what a marsh might have looked like during the summer months before western colonization. A crane, frog, salmon, humans, and spirits in the hills are carved into the 6ft x 3ft cedar panel. On the sides of the panel are two guardians, both with salmon, one female and the other male. Finally the glass canopy is a frog design, an animal known across the globe to live in marshes, and a very powerful creature within native cultures.
